  The 1734-IB8S is an Allen-Bradley manufactured module for applications with Safety Instrument Class (SIL) requirements. The module is a POINT Guard IO security module with eight (8) feed current input channels and four (4) pulse current source pulse test outputs.

  The module is typically used for applications that perform safety applications, such as emergency stop buttons, door switches, light curtains and other safety devices that may be connected to the module. It has a channel with a dual-channel mode capability for evaluating the consistency of two (2) input signals, enabling the module to be used for applications in security categories 3 and 4.

  The 1734-IB8S can communicate with network adapters over Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet networks via 1734-AENT, 1734-AENTR or 1734-PDN.
